2015 EdD Orientation

The School of Education welcomes 150 doctoral (EdD) candidates to its second annual (EdD) orientation on the Johns Hopkins University Homewood Campus. Designed to prepare an exceptional corps of educational practitioners, both nationally and internationally, who can set a high standard for transformational leadership in education, the EdD program has seen significant growth since its inception in 2013 and this year’s third cohort of students will be the largest yet with international representation.

Below is the schedule for the three-day event which starts Tuesday with welcoming remarks from Dean David Andrews. Luncheon speakers will feature Tom Dretler, CEO of Shorelight Education, on Tuesday. Shorelight funds and manages partnerships with universities that helps them internationalize their student bodies and allows international students be successful in U. S. schools. On Wednesday Kathryn Edin, Distinguished Bloomberg Scholar of Johns Hopkins University Department of Sociology,  will discuss poverty in the United States and its impact on individuals and families.
