In 2012, the trustees of the City University of New York, the country’s largest public urban university, constituted the CUNY Institute for Education Policy at Roosevelt House

The CUNY institute was housed in Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt’s former home, which is now owned by Hunter College. At Roosevelt House, the CUNY institute hosted off-the-record policy briefings, public forums and commentaries that brought pioneering research into the public square. Its work is available in its entirety here.

In 2015, the Johns Hopkins University School of Education appointed the CUNY institute’s leadership team to join its faculty and to launch a national institute for education policy. The first priority was to ensure an ongoing presence in New York. In September 2015, David Andrews, Dean of the School of Education, and Jennifer Raab, President of Hunter College, formed the Hopkins-Hunter Forum for Education Policy.

Supported by New York’s foremost public college and the nation’s leading private school of education, the Hopkins-Hunter Forum will bring the latest research and innovative ideas to New York’s educational stakeholders.

Together, we are pleased to welcome you to Roosevelt House, the Silberman School of Social Work and Hunter College’s venues around New York City to continue the good work begun in 2012.

Please find the upcoming events hosted by the Hopkins-Hunter Forum here.
