Ranked among the top graduate schools of education by U.S. News & World Report, the Johns Hopkins School of Education offers a variety of full- and part-time programs and certificates (some in online formats), and receives more funded research than any other graduate school of education in the country.

The School of Education, in partnership with the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), is offering financial assistance to a limited number of special educators interested in pursuing a graduate certificate in Gifted Education or Education of Students with Autism. MSDE will provide tuition assistance to cover up to 75% of tuition cost.  Both certificate programs are designed to advance the knowledge and skill level of experienced educators who want to help their students with special needs reach their full potential. The program is open to special educators in Maryland public schools.

Program benefits include:

  • Courses taught by faculty with extensive experience working with children with special needs
  • Prepares participants to be knowledgeable in evidenced –based best practices
  • Students may apply may apply credits earned in either of these certificates towards a Master of Science degree in General Special Education Studies.

Full-time – program can be completed in just four semesters

Part-time continue working and take up to five years to complete

Both options prepare you for the classroom through school internships with individualized supervision and mentoring from highly experienced faculty.
